How to Apply: Finland Visa for Students
Step 1: Start by filling out the Residence Permit form on the Finland Immigration website. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully. You can submit the form either digitally or at the Finnish Embassy in your country.
Step 2: You will need to submit several supporting documents with your application. Here are the documents usually required for the Finland residence permit application:
- Completed Application Form
- Acceptance Letter from the university you applied to
- Proof of sufficient funds (€6,270 for one year)
- A valid passport and photos
- Receipt of application fees paid (€330 for paper applications and €300 for online)
- Proof of valid health insurance coverage for at least one year
Step 3: Submit the application form and all required documents to the nearest embassy during working hours. Even if you applied for the Finland Residence Permit online, you must verify your documents in person for the application to proceed.
Step 4: The next step is to provide your biometric data at the embassy, including fingerprints and photographs. This must be done in person, regardless of how you applied. Once everything is complete, the visa process takes about 60 days. You will receive an email once your Finland student permit is issued, and you can either collect it at the embassy or have it mailed to you.
