Lithuania Study FAQs
For the Visa D (STUDENT VISA):

- Application through MIGRIS which is electronically submitted

- A police clearance certificate from India.
- The policy of the student’s health insurance with a minimum coverage of €6000.
The processing fee
≫ The average processing time for the visa applications is two weeks, however it is recommended to begin the application process six months prior to the actual travel time.
≫ They will need to apply for a tourist visa, followed by a temporary residence permit if they hope to accompany the student on their study abroad adventure.
≫ Specific dependents’ visas for married students are granted in exclusive circumstances. To qualify, international students must hold a temporary residence permit, and also, should have completed at least two years in Lithuania.
≫ International students are allowed to work 20 hours/week officially, during their study term and full-time during their breaks and vacation periods.
≫ In case of visa rejection, the student will receive a letter from the consulate providing detailed reasons for the refusal. If the student feels the need to re-appeal, they can do so within the first 14 days of the refusal. up to 12 months (or more for STEM graduates).
≫ All the programs are primarily taught in the English Language.
≫ Bachelor’s degree – Certificate of Secondary education (school leaving certificate or corresponding document from your country certified by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education).
≫ Master‘s Degree – Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of study (certified by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education).

Tuition fees in Lithuania vary depending on each institution, precise study program and the academic level the student is at. On an average, the studies in Lithuania costs:
- From €1,300 / year for Bachelor studies.
- From €2,300 /year for Master studies.
- From €8,400 / year for PhD studies.

≫ The student must contact one of the insurance companies on the Lithuanian Insurers Association (LDA) list. To study in Lithuania the student must have a valid health insurance that covers the duration of stay. The exact amount of medical insurance coverage is €5792.40.
